Dr Owen Emmerson is a social and cultural historian, author, consultant, and broadcaster.

He is the author of four books, works as a historical consultant, and has been an expert contributor to several television documentaries.

He gained his doctorate from the University of Sussex and is a specialist in 16th and 20th century history.
